Procedures for obtaining a licence

1. Contact market office (above) and request application form for a permanent or temporary traders licence.

2. Return form in person to LBTH Market office:

29, Commercial Street, London, UK, E1 6BD

along with:

- 4 passport photo's, photo I.D.(passport or photo driving licence)

- proof of address (utility bill)

- and proof of public liability insurance (approx £45 per annum - can be obtained from Joe Barnett, a trader in Wentworth Street market. 07956 466 417)

3. Once information has been approved (should be at time of presentation) completed form must be taken to 255-279 Cambridge Heath Road. E2. to make payment of £60.00 ( 3 year licence). Stamped form to be returned to 23 Commercial Street. Licence will be sent in post (approx 7 days).

Once you have the casual licence outlined above you then have to buy trading tickets:

(Note: When at Cambridge Heath Road it is worth purchasing Casual tickets for trading).

Ticket costs:

Casual trader

Sat - £30.90 purchased in books of 4- you need one ticket for each day you trade .
Weekdays - £20.60 in books of 2 or 5.
Plus £1 for electricity fee
These can be purchased at any time.

Permanent trader

Sat - £27.00 purchased in books of 4- you need one ticket for each day you trade .
Weekdays - £3.10 in books of 2 or 5.
Plus £1 for electricity fee
These can be purchased at any time.

A gentleman named Dennis Law (07973508532), who owns most of the market stalls at Chrisp Street, can supply a stall for you to hire. If you have your own that's fine but it will have to meet the market standards.

All charities can trade free of charge if they are not selling goods.

Prior notification is needed before you come to trade, to allocate space and keep Market inspectors updated.
